When I awoke this morning, I woke to the crash of waves and peels of thunder, and lightning! My mind quickened and clung to its molt. I, with earnest, tried to grasp at that craggy coast again, for I had just arrived there, before I was a’jolt. The small boat dithered as it was moored by the mysterious husk that brought me here. I raised my foot to place it on the angry quay, and lo! the fickle tides knowing no mercy bore me over the side, bound as I was by hand, I landed not in the turbulent black, but on frothy shore. I took my balance again and wiped the grit off my face as I could until in a flash and murderous crack! - I witnessed as waves peeled back, the sheer precipice, the ungodly maw of the world! - I galloped my way to the wretched dock, only steered by the maniacal titter wracking my unseen captor. ‘The less you step o’er the water’s edge the less you step unto untold deaths!’ the wind howled and shrieked between the servant’s ominous tuts, and would have beckoned me out and unto the abyss again, were I not again in this boring world, my ears still ringing of Doom.
